During the fourth quarter 2025 report, Lionsgate CEO John Feltheimer announced the postponement of the long-awaited biographical film Michael about legendary Michael Jackson, reports TUT.AZ with reference to Variety.
"Regarding our biographical film about Michael Jackson, we are thrilled with the 3.5 hours of footage from producer Graham King and director Antoine Fuqua. In the coming weeks, we will announce the exact strategy and release date," said Feltheimer.
"The film premiere will likely be moved beyond the current financial year, which will affect the financial performance of 2026, but at the same time strengthen the already strong schedule for 2027," emphasized the CEO.
Principal photography for Michael was completed in May last year, however, John Logan's script is still in the process of being finalized before upcoming additional filming. The large-scale project is being implemented with an impressive budget of about $155 million.
