A unique black iceberg was spotted in the ocean

Mysterious black iceberg discovered off the coast of Canada

As reported by TUT.AZ, ScienceAlert publication announced an unusual natural phenomenon observed in Canadian waters.

The amazing discovery was made by fisherman Hallur Antoniussen while working on the Saputi trawler. The experienced sailor, who had previously encountered icebergs with inclusions of stones and dirt, was amazed by what he saw. "But this one is completely different," he claims. "It's not just all black. In shape, it's almost... rhombic."

Canadian glaciologist Lev Tarasov put forward a scientific explanation for the phenomenon. In his opinion, the unusual iceberg is a fragment of a glacier that mixed with mud as it moved toward the ocean. This natural phenomenon could have given the ice such a rare black color.
