Who shouldnt eat tangerines on New Year: expert opinion

Tangerines can exacerbate stomach problems, so people with digestive tract diseases should avoid them on New Year's Eve. This was explained by reflexologist and qigong master Irina Starkova.

According to TUT.AZ with reference to "Gazeta.Ru", the specialist says that if you have problems with your stomach or pancreas, tangerines can significantly worsen your well-being, especially when combined with traditional festive dishes of the New Year's table.

The expert emphasized an interesting feature: tangerines grown in warm regions have a pronounced "cooling" effect on the body. This is why they are not recommended for people who suffer from cold extremities.

However, for those who experience internal heat, increased activity, or have a predisposition to bile stagnation in the liver, these bright citrus fruits can be a real salvation, beneficially affecting the body with their mild cooling and calming effect.

For those who cannot imagine the New Year holidays without this sunny fruit, the reflexologist offered an elegant solution – brewing tea with tangerines, which combines benefits, aesthetic pleasure, and exquisite taste.

In addition to culinary uses, tangerines are great for festive decor or as a symbolic gift. In Chinese tradition, giving two tangerines for the New Year is considered especially auspicious – there the hieroglyph for "tangerine" sounds similar to and visually resembles the hieroglyph for "gold," and the bright orange color of the fruit is traditionally associated with well-being and prosperity.
