Expert shared how to reduce the risk of panic attacks in the modern world
Although it's impossible to completely shield oneself from panic attacks, there are effective ways to minimize the likelihood of their occurrence. Clinical psychologist Stanislav Sambursky shared this information with "Moscow 24".
The specialist emphasized that the key prevention factors are adequate sleep, regular physical activity, and conscious reduction of information noise — it's especially important to limit time spent on social media. Developing stress resistance skills also plays a significant role in preventing panic states.
"For those who have experienced a panic attack, I would first recommend undergoing an examination to rule out cardiovascular and endocrine diseases that might be the cause. If there are none, one should see a psychologist and address the problem to prevent it from worsening," said Sambursky.
For self-management of panic states, the psychologist recommends expanding one's knowledge about this phenomenon and recognizing that such a reaction is a normal physiological response of the body to stress.
