A solar flare, the strongest since June, has occurred on the Sun

The most powerful flare in two months illuminated the Sun: scientists warn of possible consequences for Earth

The maximum intensity of solar radiation was recorded on August 25 at 09:24 Baku time, reaching an impressive level of M4.6. According to modern classification, this phenomenon is classified as category four on a five-point scale, report specialists from the solar astronomy laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Researchers note that currently the active zones are not directed directly at our planet, however, the situation may change dramatically within the next 24 hours, which will significantly increase the probability of impact on Earth. The first peripheral effects from the powerful solar plasma ejection are expected as early as the evening of August 25, with the main impact forecast for the second half of August 26.
