In Moscow, an unusual drug trafficking scheme uncovered: 25-year-old woman tried to deliver prohibited substances disguised as shawarma
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Russian media, the original but illegal business plan was uncovered thanks to the attentiveness of a food delivery courier. After receiving an order, the employee suspected something was wrong and decided to check the contents of the package. Inside the shawarma, he found a hidden package with a suspicious substance and immediately reported it to the police.
Officers from the drug control department of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Northern Administrative District responded instantly to the signal and detained the suspect right at the entrance of a residential building.
The conducted examination confirmed the concerns: the package, skillfully disguised in the shawarma, contained almost 12 grams of hashish. A subsequent search of the detainee's apartment revealed a real underground warehouse of prohibited substances: about 200 grams of hashish, more than 120 grams of ephedrone derivative, and about 60 grams of N-methylephedrone derivative. Electronic scales with traces of narcotic substances were also found at the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated on this fact. The court decided to place the suspect in custody. Currently, law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation to establish whether the detainee had other episodes of similar illegal activities.
