Suspect arrested in the US for attacking Minnesota legislators while impersonating a police officer

As reported by TUT.AZ, American law enforcement officers have detained 57-year-old Vance Boelter, who is suspected in the high-profile shooting of Minnesota state legislative representatives.

According to CBS television, the suspect was taken into custody in close proximity to his own home.

"Vance Boelter, the man who authorities believe shot two Minnesota legislators and their spouses ... is now in custody," the source reports.

Earlier, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz revealed shocking details: the attacker, who opened fire on Democratic Senator John Hoffman and killed Democratic legislator Melissa Hortman along with her husband, was impersonating a police officer. After committing the crimes, the perpetrator managed to escape from law enforcement.

US President Donald Trump issued a statement confirming that he had received information about the "horrible shooting" in Minnesota. The head of state characterized the incident as a "targeted attack on state legislators."
