US stops funding Ukraine: Trump announces new strategy, reports RIA Novosti.
"We are not paying Ukraine any money. Now we are not losing any money. We are selling weapons to NATO, because NATO has agreed, thanks to me, to increase [defense] spending to 5%," the American president stated.
The day before, Trump revealed details of a new agreement between the US and EU, according to which European countries commit to paying the full cost of all military equipment. The White House head emphasized that a significant portion of the armaments will be directed to Ukraine. The United States intends to invest the funds received from Europe in its own defense companies. Trump also expressed regret that such an agreement with Europe was not concluded three years ago.
