Washington imposes 25% tariffs on goods from India due to purchases of Russian oil, similar sanctions threaten other countries as well. The corresponding decree was signed by US President Donald Trump.
The document has already been posted on the official White House portal.
The text of the decree states that the American leader "deemed it necessary and appropriate to establish additional ad valorem (proportional to the value of the goods) duties on imports from India, which directly or through intermediaries purchases oil from the Russian Federation." According to the document, "in accordance with current legislation, all Indian goods entering the customs territory of the United States will be subject to an additional ad valorem duty of 25%."
The decree also provides for the possibility of introducing similar duties against other states importing oil from Russia.
