The head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Urals, Shahin Shikhlinskiy, was detained and transferred to Yekaterinburg from the capital.

As reported by the E1.RU portal, Shikhlinskiy is currently participating in investigative activities related to a previously initiated criminal case. The procedural status of the detainee remains unknown at this time, journalists emphasize.

Recall that Shahin Shikhlinskiy was put on the wanted list at the end of July this year. According to information from the official database of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, he was wanted under one of the articles of the Criminal Code, however, the specific article was not indicated in the search documents.

Earlier, law enforcement agencies in Yekaterinburg detained Shahin Shikhlinskiy's son, Mutvali. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of two months. The arrest took place on July 15 on charges of using violence against a government official.

The incident that led to the criminal prosecution occurred on July 1 near "Baku Plaza." During a special operation to detain the head of the diaspora, Shahin Shikhlinskiy, who was in a car with his son, security forces began breaking the windows of the "Geländewagen." At that moment, the car driven by Mutvali began to move in reverse and hit a special forces officer.
