Moscow City Court upheld the in absentia arrest of blogger Huseyn Gasanov in a case of tax evasion amounting to 170 million rubles

"After hearing the positions of the parties, the court decided to leave the decision of the first instance regarding Gasanov unchanged, and to dismiss Gasanov's defense appeal," the judge announced.
Recall that Gasanov has been arrested in absentia and placed on an international wanted list.
The blogger is charged under part 4 of article 174.1 point "b" of the Criminal Code of Russia (legalization of money or other property acquired by criminal means, on an especially large scale).
According to the statement of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office, Gasanov transferred funds earned from advertising on social networks not to his business account, but to the accounts of individuals - close relatives. Subsequently, these funds were withdrawn in cash and transferred to Gasanov.
