As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to TASS, the famous silk dress with a floral pattern that belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, was sold on Thursday at auction for an impressive sum of 520 thousand dollars.

This special outfit received the name "caring dress" because the princess often chose it for hospital visits. With a starting price of 50 thousand dollars, its value increased more than tenfold.

The auction featured the largest collection of more than 300 items related to Diana and other members of the British royal family. Among the unique lots: a Dior bag gifted to the princess by former First Lady of France Bernadette Chirac (sold for 325 thousand dollars with an initial price of just 5 thousand dollars), an elegant peach-colored hat from Diana's honeymoon (went for 26 thousand dollars with a starting price of 5 thousand dollars), as well as numerous dresses, shoes, clutches, cards signed by the princess, and photographs.

According to the auction organizers, the presented collection allowed auction participants to glimpse the "intimate side of royal life, to understand who these people were and what they cherished." "These outfits and items reveal the human stories behind the crown. Princess Diana's style remains relevant not only because it's beautiful, but also because it contains a lot of empathy, it's a reflection of a woman who became and remains the 'people's princess'," emphasized representatives of the auction house.
