Pakistan completed military operation in response to India's actions
On May 12, Geo TV channel, citing the press service of the Pakistani armed forces, reported the completion of a large-scale military operation "Bunyan-un-Marsus," which was initiated as a response to the escalation of tensions with India.
According to the army press service, during the operation, Pakistani military forces carried out a series of strikes on strategic military facilities in India, responding to the previous aggressive actions of the neighboring state.
Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) emphasized that the military actions conducted on May 6 and 10 were an integral part of this military campaign. Simultaneously, Pakistani security forces successfully implemented a series of counter-terrorism measures on the country's western borders.
The deterioration of relations between the two nuclear powers occurred after a bloody terrorist attack on April 22 in the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 27 people. In response, India launched a military operation codenamed "Sindur" on May 7. Shortly after, according to Pakistani media, Islamabad carried out missile strikes on Indian territory.
On May 10, the opposing sides reached a ceasefire agreement. US President Donald Trump stated that this agreement was made possible through Washington's diplomatic mediation.
