US and China extend tariff truce for three months after talks in Stockholm

This is reported by Sveriges radio.

"The US and China have agreed to extend tariff concessions. This important announcement came after two days of intensive negotiations in Stockholm, which were led by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese State Council Vice Premier He Lifeng," the radio correspondent reported.

Recall that following the May negotiations in Geneva (May 10-11) between representatives of the US and China, a mutual reduction in duties for 90 days was announced, starting from May 12. The agreement provided for a reduction in duties to 30% on Chinese goods imported into the US and to 10% on American goods supplied to China. The term of this economic deal was supposed to expire on August 12. The current negotiations in the Swedish capital took place on July 28 and 29 and ended with a successful extension of the agreement.
