Iranian city of Omidiyeh recorded a record +51°C, becoming the hottest place on the planet over the past day according to data as of July 30, 2025.
This is reported by TUT.AZ with reference to the Telegram channel "Free Iran".
The world's top 15 hottest spots on the planet included four Iranian cities at once: in addition to the leading Omidiyeh, these are Abadan, Ahvaz and Dezful (Safiabad), located in Khuzestan province.
The extreme heat established in the region poses serious health risks to the population, creates a threat of disruptions in water and electricity supply, and also significantly limits the daily activities of residents.
Local authorities had to issue special recommendations for the population, urging them to refrain from staying outdoors during peak hours of daytime heat.
