The Friday imam of Tehran reported an attack on him during a raid to monitor compliance with hijab wearing rules. The incident occurred when the cleric, dressed in the uniform of the paramilitary formation "Basij," was making remarks to citizens violating the dress code along with security forces. According to the mullah, local residents fiercely resisted, attacking the patrol with stones and bricks. The cleric also reported that some of the attackers were armed with cutting objects.
