Tragedy at paradise shores: ferry with 65 people sank near Bali
On the evening of July 2, a maritime disaster occurred near the picturesque shores of Bali island in Indonesia - the ferry KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya went underwater, taking the lives of passengers. According to Reuters and Associated Press, four people died as a result of the shipwreck, more than 30 are listed as missing, and 31 passengers managed to survive.
At the time of the tragedy, the vessel was carrying 53 passengers and 12 crew members. In addition, there were 22 vehicles in the holds, including 14 trucks.
Indonesian authorities have not yet presented an official passenger list, but local media report that there were no foreign citizens among them.
The fatal journey on the Ketapang - Gilimanuk route was cut short just half an hour after departure, when the vessel unexpectedly began to sink.
