As reported by TUT.AZ, the head of the Gagauz autonomy of Moldova, Evgenia Gutsul, has been sentenced to 7 years in prison in a case involving violations in the financing of the opposition "Shor" party. This was reported to TASS by the politician's lawyer, Natalia Bairam.

The court's decision is subject to immediate execution, emphasized the defender of the convicted.

In connection with this, according to the lawyer, Gutsul will be taken to prison directly from the courtroom.

Recall that the prosecution initially demanded a more severe punishment for the head of Gagauzia — 9 years of imprisonment.

The court also sentenced the former secretary of the "Shor" party, Svetlana Propan, to 6 years in prison.
