Mass injuries: more than 14 thousand people injured on the first day of Eid al-Adha in Turkey

The first day of Eid al-Adha celebrations in Turkey turned into a real medical collapse — 14,372 people were injured during the sacrifice ritual. The country's Minister of Health Kemal Memisoglu shared the shocking data on his social media page on X on June 7.

The geography of incidents covered the entire country: in the capital Ankara, 1,049 victims sought medical help, in Istanbul — 753 people, in Konya — 655, in Gaziantep — 634, and in Manisa — 572 victims.

Due to the unprecedented number of injuries, the minister particularly emphasized the need to entrust the performance of sacrifice rituals exclusively to professionals with appropriate skills.
