Curfew imposed in Los Angeles amid riots

Los Angeles Mayor imposes curfew in downtown due to erupted riots

According to an emergency statement made during a press conference broadcast by CNN, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced the implementation of an emergency curfew in the central district of the metropolis. The reason for such decisive measures was the ongoing street riots threatening the safety of city residents.

The restrictions come into effect today from 8:00 PM and will remain in place until 6:00 AM Wednesday local time. It's important to note that the measures are targeted — the curfew applies only to an area of one square mile, which is less than 0.2% of the total city area that spans 502 square miles.

In her address to journalists, Bass did not rule out the possibility of adopting even stricter measures if the situation continues to escalate. City authorities are demonstrating determination to restore order and are ready for decisive action to ensure the safety of Los Angeles residents.
