Armenia introduces temporary ban on popular Russian ice cream due to violations of sanitary standards
Starting from July 2, Armenia has imposed a temporary ban on the import of "Vanilla chocolate-cream eskimo plombir in glaze" ice cream from LLC "Real Ice Cream Factory" (known under the brand "Korovka"), produced on March 7 of the current year.
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Armenian media, this decision was made by the leadership of the relevant department after a thorough assessment of food safety risks.
It is important to note that the restriction applies exclusively to batches imported after July 2. The ban does not apply to products that were imported into the country before the specified date.
Representatives of the regulator explained the reason for the ban: in the batch of this type of ice cream produced on March 7, 2025 (weighing 100 g and with a shelf life of 18 months), an excess of the permissible level of E. coli bacteria was found. The indicators did not comply with the standards established by the technical regulations of the Customs Union. In this regard, an order was issued to prohibit the sale, recall from the market, as well as destroy or dispose of this batch of products.
