Infectious Disease Specialist Mikhail Favorov: Humanity is Approaching the Limit of Life Expectancy

Well-known infectious disease specialist and epidemiologist, director of DiaPrep Systems company from Atlanta Mikhail Favorov, in a conversation with RT TV channel, spoke about the slowdown in life expectancy growth worldwide, reports TUT.AZ.

The expert noted that while previously the average life expectancy of people steadily increased, in recent years this process has significantly slowed down. According to Favorov, this indicates that humanity has closely approached its natural biological limits. Despite the constant improvement of medical technologies and quality of life, a significant increase in life expectancy is no longer observed. The scientist suggested that even breakthroughs in cancer treatment could only slightly increase this indicator, as people are already near their "natural threshold" of longevity.
