Mysterious golden sphere found off the coast of Alaska: scientists speculate about its origin

During a deep-sea expedition off the coast of Alaska, researchers encountered a mysterious object - a small golden sphere found at a depth of about 3,300 meters. The unusual discovery was made using a remote vehicle from the research vessel Okeanos Explorer.

The small object, approximately 10 centimeters in diameter, attracted the attention of specialists with its metallic shine and perfect shape. A tiny hole was visible in the center of the sphere, and it rested among sea sponges on the ocean floor.

Scientists have not yet reached a consensus about the nature of the object. According to preliminary hypotheses, it could either be an egg of a marine creature unknown to science, or a completely new type of sponge. DNA analysis will help confirm one of these theories, however, the timeline for beginning laboratory studies has not yet been announced.

This unusual find once again emphasizes how little humanity knows about the depths of the ocean - one of the last unexplored frontiers on the planet.
